Complacency Kills People. Snowboarding Kills Tailbones.

Snowboarding was what all the 'cool kids' did back when I was in high school and through college. However, I've been informed that skiing is making it's comeback, yet again. I'm more of a purist when it comes to skiing and I've rolled with that. There's been a small desire to learn how to snowboard. Snowboarders are badass, skiers are classic. Plus I think their outfits are arguably cuter at times. So at 26 years old and a trip planned out west for the second year in a row, I decided to be a badass. Why wouldn't I try snowboarding? And what would I wear?!

I'd like to think that when it comes to physical activities I'm described as someone who can keep up in whatever the activity may be. The only thing that kept up on the day I tried snowboarding was my pain tolerance and it is THE ONLY reason why my tailbone is still intact.

Whoever coined the term 'Complacency Kills' has my heart. I don't know who said it or when they did, but many have repeated it and adopted it as somewhat of a life motto, myself included.

Age, attitude, pain.. there are no excuses.

There are so many things that have happened in 2017 that completely negate any of the hesitations that could be linked to the above excuses. Sometimes you just need to ride.

"And when you fall, get back up and be grateful for that thickness. Then keep going."

- Me after my first fall.. and my 57th

I was not alone in my pursuit or my falls - good company comes with first timers.

Please note: This is NOT how you snowboard.

In the same clothes I wore skiing the next day...but still, badass.
